Additional Information

By 2030, the number of people in Oklahoma 65 or older is expected to increase by over 203,700 and the number of people 85 and older is expected to increase by nearly 25,000.   The Knee Positive Aging Initiative is a multi-faceted effort that seeks to identify current and projected challenges and opportunities within the state's aging services infrastructure, synthesize information, and in partnership with stakeholders, strategically develop research-informed policy and practice designed to help Oklahomans age well.  Through a panel format, workshop attendees will hear from Alisa West Cahill about the Knee Positive Aging Initiative, which is grounded in a Workforce of the Future Study, wherein a review of the need, study design, and preliminary findings will be highlighted.   Aging services experts, Mary Brinkley, Lance Robertson, and William Whited, all practicing at a macro level in the state of Oklahoma, will share insights and expertise from the field through a discussion on principal workforce challenges and systemic change considerations.
