The Basic Life Support Course, accommodating initial and renewal certification, reflects the science and education from the American Heart Association 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. Using a variety of learning modalities, students participate in self-directed learning, clinical scenarios and interactive learning activities. Students work with faculty to complete successful BLS competency. Students also complete a written exam.
