Position Description

Pyramid Consulting is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) ED - Emergency Department for a nursing job in Austell, Georgia.

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, under nurse managers’ leadership, supported by Wellstar’s Shared Governance and Professional Practice Models.
  • Practice nursing following Georgia Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Eligible for premium sign-on bonus

Core Responsibilities:

  • Exemplary Nursing Practice:
    • Complete the full Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) based on evidence-based practice.
    • Deliver individualized, relationship-based, culturally competent care tailored to patient population characteristics.
    • Engage patients and families in care planning using effective communication methods such as bedside report and interdisciplinary rounds.
    • Maintain adherence to current clinical nursing standards.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:
    • Coordinate safe, high-quality care, ensuring timely documentation and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
    • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and contribute to recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
    • Participate in performance improvement projects, research utilization, and shared governance at all organizational levels.
  • Professional Development and Leadership:
    • Complete all required education and competency assessments, including population-specific training.
    • Serve as mentors or preceptors to nurses, staff, and students, modeling professional nursing practice and fostering a healthy work culture.
  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
    • Promote nursing research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement activities.
    • Participate in decision-making processes such as value analysis for patient care resources.
    • Uphold legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including TJC Patient Safety Goals.
    • Use expert consultation and data resources to address clinical questions.
  • Resource and Care Management:
    • Proactively plan patient care across the continuum to optimize outcomes.
    • Help develop protocols and procedures to reduce readmissions, avoidable days, and adverse events.
    • Support efficient use of human and material resources.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned, complying with all organizational policies and conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • RN with a single-state or multi-state compact license.
    • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
    • Preferred: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in English communication and healthcare technology.
    • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, customer service, time management, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emergency environment with calm and composed response.
