Community Medical Centers is seeking a ICU - Intensive Care Unit Charge Nurse (RN) for a nursing job in Fresno, California.

Responsibilities:

Located in downtown Fresno, Community Regional Medical Center is home to the region’s only Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. As a Charge Nurse in our 24-bed Medical ICU, you’ll lead a clinical team delivering high-acuity care for a diverse patient population in one of the hospital’s most complex environments. 

  • Coordinate patient assignments, admissions, discharges, and transfers to maintain efficient patient flow and optimal bed utilization. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between bedside staff, physicians, and leadership to support timely communication and continuity of care. 
  • Provide clinical guidance and mentoring to nurses and support staff, promoting professional growth and adherence to evidence-based practice. 
  • Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory standards to ensure exceptional, patient-centered care.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required 
  • 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required 
  • 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN, or in a team leadership role required 

Licenses and Certifications  

  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required 
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
