Qualifications/Certifications/Licensure/Experience that are essential:
Currently Ohio Valley Hospital is recruiting  Physician Extender (s).  The Physician Extender is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant that plans, implements and evaluates the medical care of each patient with the support of physicians in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.  OVPS is looking for a full-time Physician Extender for its Ohio Valley Professional Services Offices . These positions are full time, primarily outpatient clinic, on call with hospital rounds and some weekend rotations.

  1. Graduate of an accredited CRNP or PA program required.
  2. Current unrestricted Pennsylvania license required.
  3. Current DEA license required.
  4. Current board certification required.
  5. Current continuing medial education certificates as required.
  6. Current BLS and SCLS certifications required.
  7. Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in a primary care, family practice, or internal medicine setting required.
  8. Previous experience with electronic health record preferred

Skills and Abilities:  Basic computer skills and ability to type.  Capability to use various computer systems, including eClinicalWorks, Meditech, Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
Communication Skills and Abilities:  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, visitors, peers, physicians and management.  Must have excellent guest relations and interpersonal skills.
Other Skills and Abilities:  Good organization skills are required.  Ability maintain confidentiality remain professional in sensitive situations.
