Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, the largest hospital in Newark and one of the state’s largest teaching hospitals, has an opening for a Nurse Educator within the Oncology department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
The Nurse Educator, Oncology is a registered professional nurse who has the expertise in education and/or specific area of nursing practice, and is based in a nursing division of service. He/she must be able to assess data relevant to the learner’s progress and interpret the appropriate information necessary to develop group and individual learning plans. This key team member is considered to be a clinical expert when positioned in a practice setting with abilities to foster the clinical development of the staff that she/he guides. The Nurse Educator, Oncology will be responsible to assess the educational needs of the staff on an on-going basis and to serve as a resource/coach for the nursing staff, educators, APNs, Management, and other healthcare providers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current NJ RN licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oncology.
- Certification in area of Oncology.
- Maintains ACLS, PALS, NRP as appropriate. BLS Certification is required.
