BRC's Chemical Dependency Crisis Center (CDCC) offers 32-beds of medically monitored and medically supervised withdrawal services in an inpatient setting for men and women. The CDCC program provides 24-hour nursing coverage, individual and group motivational counseling, didactic health and substance abuse education, therapeutic activities and institutional twelve-step programs. The medically supervised beds are new to BRC's CDCC.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:30pm
Focuses on triage and assessment of potential admissions. Identifies and prioritizes client care needs based on client history and nursing assessment. Performs client triage, assessments, and monitors for symptoms of acute withdrawal and/or symptoms of intoxication and the client's response to intervention and treatment. Presents clients for medically supervised admission to the physician. Uses nursing judgment and completes state issued LOCADTR tool to admit clients to medical stabilization or rehabilitation. As needed will closely monitors clients during administration of medications. Ensures medication schedule is timely, and adheres to unit policy and protocol. Completes required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Able to deliver shift to shift report and communication that supports consistent client follow up. Completes initial treatment plan that comprehensively endorses client needs and available resources. Participates in quality improvement projects. Uses independent clinical assessment and judgment for admission, operate in a shift leadership role; all as part of a multi-discplinary team. When needed serve as the lead nurse, and be directly responsible for all nursing care and nursing staff decision, including assigning tasks and supervising the LPNS.. Understand the unique needs of the homeless population, within a fast-paced, community-based care setting. Related Duites as assigned.
State RN licensure, CPR-BLS required. Certification in addictions or psychiatric nursing a plus. Previous relevant work experience in detoxification programs or emergency departments is preferred. Basic computer literacy required.
