Position Description

We are accepting applications for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 support for a young woman with autism and a seizure disorder. The Registered NurseĀ position is full time and/or an on call Registered Nurse position for our North Canaan, CT Continuous Residential Supports Program and Great Barrington, MA Day Support Program locations.

Required Qualifications of the Registered Nurse

  • RN Emergency Room experience preferred or comfort with the treatment of seizures.
  • CT and/or MA Registered Nurse License required. (Will reimburse CT Licensing)
  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts or be on-call.
  • Available for day and/or awake overnight shifts, or flexibility for both.

Responsibilities of Position of the Registered Nurse:

  • Administer and monitor Program Participant's medical needs in accordance with orders by prescribing physicians and medical professionals.
  • Stay on shift until next Registered Nurse arrives.
  • Attend and accomplish special training related to the needs of the Program Participant.
  • Occasional overnight trips to attend to Program Participant when she is visiting her family home.
  • Attend to Program Participant needs related to hygiene and activities of daily living.
  • Participate in programs and activities with the Program Participant, including day program, supported employment, household activities, cultural events, and other outings.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for care and medical administration both in a residential and day program supporting an individual with special needs, autism and seizure disorder. Training will be provided.
