Anne Lafontaine has retired and will be missed!
Anne Lafontaine has retired. I wanted to share Anne's words:
I’ve been so fortunate to do a job that I’ve loved for nearly 40 years. I still remember answering the ad for an Industrial Nurse in August 1978 at Pro Brush in Florence. It described Mon-Fri 8am to 4pm, no holidays or weekends work and I’d had enough of working nights including holidays & weekends. I had no idea what an Industrial Nurse did but thankfully the Western Mass Industrial Nurses were a friendly and incredibly helpful & supportive group. I could never have done it without them. If I had it to do over again I would definitely chose Occupational Health again.
Take care, talk to you again soon, love, Anne
Anne was an MAAOHN Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2006. She served on so many roles in Western Mass, MaAOHN and the Northeast chapter of AAOHN. She was our nurse historian. Anne's quiet service and behind the scene work was invaluable to Massachusetts occupational health nurses and beyond!
Anne we all wish you a happy and healthy retirement filled with gardening and adventures. Your smiling face will be missed!
