ANA Adopts New Position Statement on Pain Management

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Center for Ethics and Human Rights released a new position statement on pain management: The Ethical Responsibility to Manage Pain and the Suffering It Causes. The statement was adopted by the ANA Board of Directors, effective 2018.
The purpose of the position statement is to provide ethical guidance and support to nurses as they fulfill their responsibility to provide optimal care to persons experiencing pain. Read the full statement here.
