RN Education Series - Beyond the Walls: Bringing Palliative Care to the Community
Join us for the inaugural RN Education Series on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 3pm ET, when Constance Dahlin, MSN, ANP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FAAN, Director of Professional Practice, presentsBeyond the Walls: Bringing Palliative Care to the Community. This series will be open to all RNs, whether you are an HPNA member or a nonmember so please spread the word to any RN's you work with that you think would be interested.
The purpose of this activity is to contribute to the continual learning curve essential to support and drive long-term nursing advances in community-based palliative care. The activity learning outcomes and goals include delineating community palliative care from specialty palliative care, distinguishing three venues of care within the community for palliative care intervention, and employing three resources that promote community-based palliative nursing practice.
In addition to being the HPNA Director of Professional Practice, Ms. Dahlin is a palliative nurse practitioner at the North Shore Medical Center in Massachusetts, a faculty member of the Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care, and a clinical associate professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She is a palliative care content expert on the Measurement Applications Partnership (MAP) Post-Acute Care/Long Term Care; Clinical; and Patient and Family Care Workgroups. Ms. Dahlin is a 2016 Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Leadership Scholar, on the American Hospital Association Circle of Life Award Selection Committee, and a past president and board member of HPNA.
The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC) under provider number P0284. Successful course completion earns the RN participant 1.0 CNE award (60 minutes/contact hour). This course is offered to all interested participants as a continuing education service. To receive the CNE award, participants must be registered, attest to attendance, and complete/submit a post-activity evaluation within the time frame designated. No partial CNE credit will be awarded.
