Katherine Mason

I have been in Medical field for 41 years. For 5 years, I was a scrub tech in the Operating room and 5 years as a Registration clerk and have been a nurse for 32 years with 30 of those years in Emergency Nursing.

I started my nursing career in Greenville, SC. I worked for Greenville Memorial Hospital (now Prisma Health). I worked in the Emergency Department in Greenville for 13 years.

When my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC in 1996 I worked in the Emergency Department at Carolinas Medical Center (now Atrium Healthcare). I worked in the Emergency room for Atrium Healthcare from 1996-2015. In 2012, I served as the President for the Metrolina chapter of NC ENA. I have served as a NC ENA Delegate for at least 7 years.

In 2016, I started at Mission Health System (now HCA-North Carolina Division, Mission Health). I have worked in Accreditation and Regulatory since 2016. I have stayed very active in the Blue Ridge chapter of the NC ENA since moving to Asheville. I am the President for the Blue Ridge chapter for 2019-2020. I have maintained my TNCC instructor and also continue to participate in the NC ENA at a local level and the state level. For 2019, I am serving as the education planning person for the NCENA.
