Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Certificate Program
Provides graduate students from nursing, social work, and theology & ministry with:
- Knowledge of the core principles of palliative care across disciplines
- Appreciation and respect for the unique andcomplimentary contributions of each discipline incollaborative care, and
- Comprehension of the Interdisciplinary processes needed to care for seriously ill persons and families
throughout the illness course and across care settings.
Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Course Offerings
HLTH 7700: Serious Illness, Death, and Dying
HLTH 7702: Responding to Suffering in Serious Illness, Death,
and Dying
HLTH 7704: Interdisciplinary Leadership in Palliative Care
The certificate program requires completion of 4 courses, 2-3 of the HLTH courses plus 1-2 interdisciplinary electives from the School of Social Work or School of Theology & Ministry. Courses may also be taken individually.
