2nd Annual Palliative Care Symposium for Advance Practice Providers

Overview

The goal of this symposium is to provide participants with the tools to deliver high quality care to patients and families with serious illness. Palliative and supportive care is an imperative part of high-quality cancer care. Care of the cancer patient can be challenging to healthcare workers. Advanced practice providers are essential leaders in clinical practice, value-based care delivery, nursing practice, and policy.

This symposium is designed to offer educational updates on complex pain management, serious illness conversations, and psychiatric needs of the cancer patient and family in the community and acute care setting. The symposium will provide the latest developments in use of medical marijuana and telemedicine. There will be presentations by leaders in palliative care on caregiver distress, geriatrics, and leadership roles. In addition, there will be breakout sessions where providers can choose from topics such as global palliative care, pediatrics, and resiliency.

Networking Reception

Course attendees are invited to a networking reception immediately following the course, which will provide an opportunity to meet and interact with the course faculty and other attendees. Please RSVP for the reception during course registration.
