On February 13, 2020, GNA announced its re-accreditation as an Approver Unit and as an Approved Provider of nursing professional development activities.  

The Georgia Nurses Association Nursing Professional Development Approver Unit (NPDAU) is available to assist nurses and healthcare organizations in Georgia and in neighboring states provide professional development opportunities. 

"We were re-accredited as an Approver Unit in December and gained the ability to provide our own educational activities for our GNA members in September," declared Nurse Peer Review Leader and Primary Nurse Planner for the GNA NPDAU, Lynn Rhyne, MN, RNC-MNN. 

"We [NPDAPU's peer reviewers] are actively recruiting organizations formerly approved as Approved Providers, and we are working diligently to review applications for Individual Activities and provide approval provided that such applications meet ANCC's standards," added Rhyne.
