On Wednesday, April 1st, the Georgia Nurses Association announced the launch of its Appreciate a Nurse Challenge 2020.

Originally launched in 2018 as part of the association’s celebration of National Nurses Week, which is May 6th- 12th, the Challenge endeavors to raise awareness of the life changing value of the education, leadership and service of registered nurses nationwide. Particularly, the nurses of Georgia. This year’s challenge will run from April 1st through May 31st.

What is the Challenge?

  1. Find a nurse
  2. Appreciate his/her work
  3. Take a picture with them*
  4. Post on social media
  5. Use hashtag: #AppreciateaNurseChallenge

By using the hashtag, participants agree to have their picture showcased in the #AppreciateaNurseChallenge Wall of Fame.

Folks who don’t use social media, may email their picture to gna@georgianurses.org, subject line “Challenge”.

For questions about the Appreciate a Nurse Challenge, please contact GNA Communications Manager Charlotte Báez-Díaz at charlotte.baez-diaz@georgianurses.org.

*In an effort to promote social distancing amid the current COVID-19 pandemic, challenge participants may submit a picture of a nurse instead of a selfie with them.
