Dear Fellow Nurses,

We opened a new version of the GNA COVID-19 Front Line Nurses Experience Survey. We want to hear about your personal experience as a front-line nurse in the COVID-19 pandemic. We added a few more questions to ensure that we capture and convey your story with exactness and clarity when we speak on your behalf to government officials, healthcare systems and the public.

We know about furloughs happening in the state, about nurses been recruited to serve in other states, and your fears of losing your job if you speak up about your safety concerns. We are working tirelessly to get you the personal protective equipment (PPE) and other protection supplies that you desperately need. And to come up with ways to take care of you and to help fellow nurses stay here in Georgia to help.

As your professional association, we protect our profession, our fellow nurses, and consistently do what’s needed to be involved in and influence the decision-making process in the healthcare arena. We care for our patients at each stage of their health care journeys. We take care of them and of each other.

Furthermore, today the American Nurses Association (ANA) released a call to action asking us to contact our Senators and House Representatives and ask them “to support the Medical Supply Chain Emergency Act to fully exercise the #DPANOW to #GetMePPE & keep nurses safe!" Expressed the Association.

At this time, I’d like to offer my condolences to the nurses who have lost a colleague, and the families who have lost a loved one to the virus. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
