As Elizabeth Bridges underscored in her inaugural column, “This Is Our Moment, when the world celebrates us as the most trusted profession, it has also learned that the care we give every day as acute and critical care nurses is unique, and it cannot be replaced.” 2020 is designated as the Year of the Nurse by the World Health Organization in honor of Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday.
