Dear NEC-ARIN Members,

I would like to thank Mary Sousa, BSN, RN for her tenure and service to NEC-ARIN.  Mary is a pioneer of Radiology nursing and has been a tenacious advocate for NEC-ARIN and Imaging Nursing.  She will be greatly missed on this Board.  Mary has chosen to step aside from NEC-ARIN for personal reasons and I along with the Board thank her for all that she has accomplished.  I know she will continue to support us and the Imaging Nursing Community.  

As President-Elect, I have assumed the President’s position of NEC-ARIN and look forward to working with our Board to find new and innovative ways to reach our members. In the past this local Chapter has hosted at least two educational conferences annually.  These well-attended events were wonderful opportunities to not only obtain Radiology specific CEU’s; they were a way for us to find each other.   We learned through open conversations and forums that we weren’t alone in our specialty areas.   These successful events were due in large part to the Board's energy and dedication.  NEC-ARIN had two conferences planned prior to the pandemic shut down.  

The ripples of the COVID 19 pandemic continue to be evident in our practices and our day to day lives. NEC-ARIN will be looking for new ways to serve our members.  We will host our Open Chapter meeting via ZOOM on  Saturday November 7th from 10-11am.  I hope that you can join us to share ideas and let us know how we can help you to improve your own practice.

Imaging nursing is an exciting and expanding specialty of nursing.  Sharing information, challenges and solutions have always been one of the most valuable aspects to local membership. I look forward to maintaining that important aspect of NEC-ARIN membership and serving as your President.
