November 18, 2020- Georgia nurses are serving their communities beyond the bed side, the C-suit, the classroom, or the board room. Starting in June of this year, the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) partnered with Community Advanced Practice Nurses (CAPN)’s Dr. Linda “Lindy” Grabbe, PhD, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC and Dr. Jordan Murphy, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, along with Dr. Ingrid Duva, PhD, RN to offer free Community Resiliency Model® (CRM) trainings to nurses and members of the community.

CRM is a skills-based wellness and prevention program that provides a biological, non-stigmatizing perspective on normal human reactions to stress and trauma. CRM concepts help people understand their autonomic nervous system responses and, as they learn to track sensations connected to their own wellbeing, they may live life more fully.  The primary focus of this self-care stabilization program is to learn techniques to reset the natural balance of the nervous system.

Teaching people how to become resilient was and continues to be a priority for GNA and CAPN. The need for these trainings got greater attention during the pandemic so we joined efforts with Resilient Georgia and Resilient Middle Georgia to meet them, resulting in two additional trainings scheduled in October and December.

RSVP for the December sessions today! Visit georgianurses.org, “Upcoming Events.”

Anyone is welcome to participate.
