President Joe Biden has named Rear Admiral Susan Orsega, MSN, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, acting surgeon general. Orsega will fill the role until the Senate holds confirmation hearings for Biden’s official nominee, Vivek Murthy, who served in the role under former President Barack Obama.
