Support for Inclusivity and Education

The Tennessee Nurses Association believes that injustice is complex and multi-faceted, racial injustice is a public health emergency, and discussion of and support for gender identity and LBGTQA+ issues is being suppressed.

Tennessee Nurses Association will work diligently for diversity and inclusion, treating all people with equity and respect, helping them feel valued and belonging, empowering them to grow toward optimal physical, mental, and social health.

Tennessee Nurses Association will work with elected officials throughout our state and advocate to create equitable health, educational, and economic opportunities for all people throughout the state.

Tennessee Nurses Association will work with elected officials throughout our state and advocate to eradicate institutionalized racism and gender bias, and demand that governmental structures, policies, practices, norms, and values, be addressed, and removed.

Tennessee Nurses Association will encourage nurses to do the work to identify, challenge and change values, structures and behaviors that perpetuate systemic racism, gender bias, and hate.
