Join the Boston Area Chapter of the HPNA for a monthly gathering for nurses by nurses to discuss patient cases, common issues faced by hospice and palliative nurses, informal mentorship, and other conversations that would help us thrive in our work. This space is meant to be social and educational - no CEUs will be awarded. We are focusing on discussing our work and using our collective knowledge and wisdom to support each other.

Each month we will need volunteers to open up the discussion. Nothing to do in preparation, just think about what you want to talk about during these gatherings. A few suggestions:

• A specific case (maintaining privacy and adherence to HIPAA policy). Think about what clinical question you want to investigate - symptom management, communication, prognostication and eligibility, family dynamics, cultural considerations, etc.
• A practice issue - staffing, safety, self-care, job satisfaction, etc.
• Practice pearls - what are the tips and tricks that help you get through the day?
• Any other topics that would be helpful to a group of nurses working in hospice and palliative care No need to create a formal presentation, we want this to be a space where we can engage in open conversation and simply discuss issues common in our practice. This is not a place for Powerpoint.
