The Oklahoma Nurses Association (ONA) is excited to present two upcoming opportunities for nurses across the state to make their voice heard on Oklahoma politics. Now more than ever our communities, and community leaders, must be made aware of all that nurses bring to the table and the key role they play in keeping Oklahoman’s healthy. Legislators understand that nurses have kept us safe, educated and kept going when no one else would, but they are not serving on the front lines of healthcare like you. They can only know what conditions are truly like when you share your nursing story.

Take a hand in helping to shape state policies that impact healthcare at these two unique and immersive ONA legislative events.

Nurses Day at the Capitol
At the 2022, Nurses Day at the Capitol, Oklahoma nurses and nursing students will come together to discuss, share and learn about where we’ve been and what the future holds. Nurses Day at the Capitol will empower and educate nurses on the power of the nursing voice. Nurses in all stages of their careers should attend. Please join us for this special event, Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Register Here Today!

Nurse of the Day
The Nurse of the Day program gives Oklahoma Nurses the opportunity to get involved in the legislative process by selecting a day from February through May 24th to visit with legislators in person, attend various committee meetings and assist in the First Aid station at the Capitol for the day. From demands on healthcare due to COVID-19 to the nationwide nursing shortage to the thousands of overworked and under-represented nurses across the state, now is the time to speak our truth to Oklahoma’s political leaders.
