Dear members of the Pacific Crest Regional Chapter of the AACN and fellow critical care nurses, 

Our chapter was founded in 1989 with the goal of connecting and enriching our local critical care nurses. Over the last 33 years this chapter has brought vast amounts of educational opportunities to the nurses of Southern Oregon and the surrounding areas, held dozens of dinners celebrating our certified critical care nurses, and provided thousands of dollars of sponsorships to education events and NTI. All great things of which to be very proud!

The last 2 years COVID has impacted almost every aspect of our lives; I don't need to tell you all the toll it has taken on our critical care nurses. Additionally, COVID restricted our chapter's ability to continue education events, certification dinners, and even meet in person. It is with a heavy heart that as a board we have decided to merge our chapter. We have been working closely with our neighboring chapter, the Greater Portland Chapter, and effective 4/1/2022 we will be merging our chapter with theirs. 

What does that mean for the nurses in Southern Oregon and the surrounding areas? If you are a current PCRC member your membership will be transferred to the Greater Portland Chapter as of 4/1/2022. If you do not want to be transferred, please let us know by 3/11/2022 via email at pcrcaacn@gmail.com. If your membership with PCRC is not current, then we encourage you to join the Greater Portland Chapter. Member fees are $20 for one year and $35 for two years, students are $5 for 1 year and retired nurses are $10 for 1 year.  You will be able to attend meetings and events virtually, or in person if you choose to make the drive. The Greater Portland Chapter will be adding a seat to their board that is open to nurses from the Southern Oregon area to continue to support our local area nurses. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to the Greater Portland Chapter here. At this time that seat will be filled with one of our current board members to facilitate this transition but will be open at election time in 2023 so get engaged!
