Northern New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association Leadership Celebrates

The NJ Healthcare Quality Institute 25th Anniversary!

We were invited to attend NJHCQI 25th anniversary celebration on September 15th at the Trenton Country Club. Our chapter is a member of their Quality Council under the Mayor's Wellness program and COYL, Conversations of Your Life. We were joined by 200 other attendees which included various CEO's, administrators, healthcare organizations from the community. Linda Schwimmer the CEO recognized five leaders and said, "They’re bringing much of what they learned through their support and partnership with the Quality Institute to their efforts to strengthen and improve health care for everyone — whether that’s better health care for children, affordable insurance for families, improved patient safety, more equitable maternal care, and other meaningful change".

The five Quality awardees were: David Knowlton, co-founder and former CEO of the Quality Institute, Judith Persichilli, Commissioner of New Jersey Department of Health and former Quality Institute Board Member, Leah Binder, President and CEO, The Leapfrog Group, Jennifer Velez, Esq., SVP and General Counsel, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, Former Commissioner, NJ Department of Human Services, and Senator Joseph Vitale, New Jersey Legislature.
