NCHPNA February Meeting Recap
Hello all!
Thank you so much to those that joined us this week, and we missed those of you who couldn't make it!
We started out with introductions. There is currently an open Board position for Secretary. This person is responsible for taking minutes, sending out information to members, and website upkeep. If you are interested in this position, please reach out to Jamie Day at Jamie.Day@unchealth.unc.edu by March 3rd!
Here is a quick financial snapshot:
- 17 New Members in 2022
- $100 bonus from National HPNA for member recruitment
- As of February 21, 2023, Account Balances:
- Checking: $579.96
- Savings: $ 2,219.38
- 2022 Expenses:
- Chapter Renewal $125
- Website $199
- HPNA Conference Recording $150 (for future CEU use)
Then we reviewed the HPNA Course Symptom Management: Converting Clinical Assessment into Effective Patient Education through the use of Storytelling, Metaphor and Analogy . We had a great discussion around what this looks like in our own practice. If you are interested in this course, it is free for HPNA national members. You can access by clicking on the name above.
And one quick plug for membership! We are so excited to see this chapter grow, and the opportunities that come with that growth. NC HPNA membership is a separate registration and fee from national HPNA. If you are not a member of NC HPNA, it is only $25 for 2 years, and you can register at our website. The current board (President, Presidents-Elect, Secretary, & Treasurer) terms expire in January 2024. That might seem like a long way away, however please start thinking about if you would like to fill any of these roles!
Our next meeting is May 16 at 5pm. We will send details & registration closer to the date and hope that you can join us!
