January 29, 2024 - On behalf of the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE).

There is an upcoming advocacy opportunity for nurses interested in environmental advocacy.

ANHE is working with their partners at Climate Action Campaign and the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health who are hosting a fly-in with health professionals and public health professionals from around the country in Washington, DC, from February 12th to 14th to continue pushing for the strongest solutions for pollution standards, sharing stories of the personal and community health risks posed by climate and other toxic pollution to educate Members of Congress and the Administration about the need to take action.

They are looking for participation from constituents in Arizona, California, Delaware, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and Virginia.

The Climate and Health Fly-in provides a unique opportunity to elevate the importance of addressing climate change as a health issue. By implementing these strategies and advocating for stronger pollution rules, we can contribute to building a healthier, more resilient future for all Americans.

Over the three days, participants will have the opportunity to mingle with congressional staff and participants of the fly-in, participate in a press conference calling for the strongest possible standards, and meet with Members of Congress to call for strong action that protects the millions across the US who suffer due to health-related climate impacts. We will also schedule a set of meetings with the Biden administration.

Travel expenses and accommodations are covered. If interested, please contact:
