With over two decades of experience in pediatric critical care, patient safety, and nursing leadership, Latieia Key has built a career focused on meaningful change in healthcare and the community. She currently leads professional nursing practice at a major children’s hospital, where she has advanced initiatives that support evidence-based care, frontline nurse advocacy, and improved outcomes for patients and families.
A lifelong learner, Latieia is completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership and holds several national certifications, including Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN). Her leadership has earned her recognition as a 2024 DFW Great 100 Nurse and a nursing excellence champion.
Outside of her clinical work, Latieia is deeply involved in civic and volunteer leadership. She chairs government affairs efforts within the Texas Nurses Association District 4 and serves on regional healthcare safety committees. She’s running for this position to serve as a conduit to amplify the voices of nurses, strengthen community safety, and advance initiatives that prioritize nurses and those they serve.
