Over the past week, unprecedented flash flooding has devastated communities across West Texas, the Hill Country, and most recently Ruidoso, New Mexico. These events have displaced hundreds of families, destroyed homes, and tragically claimed lives—including loved ones from our own region.

Counties within our ENA chapter, including Tom Green, Midland, and Ector, have been directly impacted. Additionally, West Texas families visiting Kerrville and Ruidoso were swept into the floodwaters, adding to the heartbreak we collectively feel.

As emergency nurses, our strength lies in unity. Now is our moment to show compassion not only through our care—but through action.

We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the families in Kerr County and Ruidoso—though outside our chapter, their tragedy touches all of us.
