Hello!

I am very excited about our first meeting and presentation of our 2015-2016 year! We will be at Midwest Palliative Care Center site, in Glenview, on September 30th. Please see "Upcoming Events" tab for details and registration. We are really hoping to ramp up our website usage this year in order to make our lives and our members lives so much easier! Using the website for event registration is just the first step.

We have many new board members this year--Nancy (President-Elect) Christine (Secretary) and Margaret (Treasurer)-and a big "Thank You!" to them for taking on board membership and volunteering to help make this chapter grow and thrive.  Also, we couldn't do this without the expertise and experience of our other leadership positions, Ellyn (Past President), Masako (Nominations) and Julie (Membership Chair). We are also very grateful to Colleen (past Treasurer) who spent many extra years on the board to prevent a vacancy from occuring.  We will always be needing new Board Members on an annual basis--so please consider joining our wonderful leadership team and giving back to HPNA and our hospice palliative community in the Chicagoland Area.  In spring of 2016, we will have a President-Elect position open...we will send out more information concerning open positions in the winter/spring.

We are in the process of working on our event calendar for the year. Please check the website for updates and we will send out email announcements also. Our Program/Meeting in November will be at St. Thomas Hospice in Hinsdale and we will be reviewing the HPAR recertification requirements since there have been big changes to how we must recertify as the testing option will no longer be available.  The 2016 dates/topics are still being finalized but we are always looking for new ideas/topics/locations so please message or email us with ideas.

Also, we are so fortunate that our Annual Assembly will be located in Chicago this year (March 9-12, 2016)! WooHoo! No airline travel needed for us to attend a fantastic event! We will post more information once it is released. I have not had the opportunity to attend the Annual Assembly yet but I will definitely be there this time! 

So, save the date for Sept 30, and Nov 11 for our first two meetings.
