HPNA announces the formation of the Professional Development Advisory Council. The goal is to position HPNA to be the foremost authority on issues pertaining to palliative nursing for the registered nurse (RN). Members will provide input on the diverse needs of the RN to provide and promote access to quality palliative care.

The application is open to all RN members, especially those who may be new to leadership or national committee participation.  This new workgroup will help to shape and define the direction of education, advocacy, clinical practice, and resources within HPNA. The Professional Development Advisory Council will be comprised of a diverse group of RNs by region, practice, and setting. There are 12 members and each RN represents several states. See the regions attached. The Participation in the Professional Development Advisory Council is a 2-year commitment.

Attached are: 1)  the Professional Development Advisory Council application, 2) the Professional Development Advisory Council roles and responsibilities, and 3) the Professional Development Advisory Council representation regions. The deadline for application is 5 pm December 3, 2016.
