The Colorado Emergency Nurses Association

Hello ENA members!

Colorado ENA members have been invited to provide feedback and support to a new opioid reduction pilot project underway in select Colorado hospitals. This pilot project seeks to offer alternative pain management care pathways for patients in the emergency department.

There are two requests for interested Colorado ENA members:

  1. Please review the attached guidelines and provide your thoughtful, professional feedback to the pilot project physician, Dr. Don Stader from Swedish Medical Center emergency department: Donald.Stader@gmail.com Here is your opportunity to provide feedback based on your experience and expertise.

  2. The pilot also seeks several Colorado ENA nurses interested in providing nursing education for this project at select Colorado emergency departments. Typical education may include visiting local emergency departments during staff meetings or education presentations. Training for the nursing education will be provided, and first education dates begin in April and May. The pilot is currently limited to select hospitals, but is expected to grow over time. Please contact Sharon Schultz at: president@coloradoena.org if interested in participating in the ENA nursing education outreach.

Thanks,
