The Greater Johnstown (GJC) of AACN wants you to share your knowledge with fellow acute care and critical care nurses at our annual fall educational seminar, “GJC Presents…Region 3 Collaborative ’17.”  The event will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at The Holiday Inn - Downtown, Johnstown, PA. Presentations should feature the latest advances and research regarding health care delivery in high acuity and critical care practice, professional development, leadership or current issues.  Sessions are to be 45-50 minutes to allow for brief discussion following the presentation.  All abstracts must be 500 words or less not including title and speakers, and must contain the following components in the body of the abstract:

  1. Session Description: A brief description of the content to be presented, the background of the content, and why the topic is clinically relevant to high acuity and critical care nurses.
  1. Learning Objectives: A minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 learning objectives should be identified. Learning objectives should finish the following sentence “At the end of this presentation the participant will….”

**Example Learning Objective: At the end of this presentation the participant will develop strategies for enhancing interactions with student nurses.

Abstract Submission Format/Deadline

All abstracts should be single-spaced and typed in Times New Roman 12 point font.  Abstracts should be typed in Microsoft word. Abstracts should be saved as .doc or .docx files and should be emailed as an attachment to GJCAbstracts@gmail.com. Abstracts that do not follow the formatting guidelines will not be considered. Abstracts must be received by midnight Sunday, June 4, 2017.
