ONS Is Seeking a Research Scholar in Residence
Can you see yourself advising cancer nursing research for the premier association for oncology nurses and the largest association of oncology professionals in the world?
ONS has an exciting opportunity for a research scholar in residence (SIR) for a three-year term. This contract position will serve as an advisor, supporting cancer nursing research and training nurse scientists. Responsibilities include working with an external advisory panel, providing direction on training and networking opportunities for nurse researchers in ONS membership, and collaborating with the ONS Foundation on the development of mechanisms to fund oncology nursing research and support training initiatives.
Additionally, the SIR will collaborate with an external research advisory panel to develop a focused, three-year ONS Research Agenda and identify priority areas for ONS initiatives that align with the mission and strategic plan of the organization.
To develop researchers, the SIR will advise ONS and the chief clinical officer on initiatives that provide training and increase research expertise and capacity within ONS membership. These may include mentor programs for junior researchers, research intensive programs at national conferences, and mock grant reviews.
The SIR will also use available supports such as the ONS advanced nursing research community and marketing channels for dissemination of key updates on funding and training opportunities to ONS researchers. The SIR will collaborate with academic institutions and represent ONS at relevant conference, serve on national panels, collaborate with key networks, and more.
