Intended Audience

This conference is designed for physicians,

nurses, social services, chaplains,

physical and occupational therapists,

respiratory therapists, EMS personnel and

Anesthesiology personnel.

Objectives

At the completion of this course, the

participant should be able to:

• explain the importance of integrating

spiritual care into the Trauma Continuum

of Care

• recognize the characteristics of ineffective

coping, secondary traumatic stress and

PTSD in the trauma care provider

• identify potential preventative strategies

for reducing PTSD in ICU patients

• describe the Trauma Continuum of Care

from patient event to discharge

• discuss trauma care updates for

management of the injured patient
