Professional Achievements:
I began working as a school nurse in 2001 and soon after found the Michigan Association of School Nurses. By getting involved, I discovered an invaluable network and support of school nurses from across the state. The width and bredth of knowledge I have access to in the school nurses of this organization never ceases to amaze me!
While I currently am honored to serve as NASN Director on the MASN Board, I have been involved in many different committees over the years. Each appointment has allowed me to connect with colleagues I now consider life long mentors and friends.
Favorite Thing About My Profession:
I love the proactive nursing work that a school nurse provides for students of all ages and developmental capabilities! It brings me joy to be able to support them at the most wholistic, base level of their developing lives, thereby allowing them to feel safe, healthy and ready to learn!
Virtues:
Faith and joy are my core values to everything I do; therefore, I believe the virtues of commitment, listening, and empowerment are important.
