Professional Achievements:

Since becoming a registered nurse in 1979, I have had the privilege of gaining nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings. To build upon experience acquired as a medical- surgical nurse in an acute care setting, I continued to increase my skill set in a rehabilitation hospital, working with tracheotomy and ventilator-dependent patients. I expanded my knowledge and experience as a nurse case manager for injured workers, which led to a supervisory role and branch manager position in medical claims auditing. My specialty areas include school nursing and occupational health, which are significant aspects of community health. As a Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist, I am equipped to provide quality community health nursing and occupational health nursing education. In addition, my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and leadership experience enable me to prepare students to be the nurse leaders of tomorrow.
