Professional Achievements:
I currently represent correctional nursing on national, state and regional workforce committees addressing the implementation of the Essentials for Nursing, the Professional Identity in Correctional Nursing, and the Future of Nursing Action Campaign.
My primary focus is upon recruitment and retention of correctional nurses by collaborating with other stakeholders to advance an adaptation of a career pathway program for national dissemination.
Favorite Thing About My Profession:
The passion of correctional nurses. These are people who enter some of the most challenging work environments to serve individuals who might not have the benefit of access to nursing or health care without them.
