Favorite Thing About My Profession:
i've appreciated the flexibility in opportunities and scheduled hours with a significant career satisfaction throughout my years of nursing practice. I've been afforded the opportunity to mold my career to maximize work life balance as I raised my four daughters.
Virtues:
I value my lifelong dedication to volunteering for my community. I am a lifetime American Red Cross Nurse awarded after organizing numerous blood drives in the McDonough County community. I was a 15 year volunteer as Prehospital RN, Assistant Administrator, and Educator for the Ambulance service with the Prophetstown Fire Protection District. Holding a lifetime membership with the Girl Scouts of America, I served as a local leader, and integrated my emergency nursing skills assisting as a first aid provider at numerous council and national events. Currently, I am the parish nurse at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. I'm a member of the McLean County Medical Reserve Corps. Finally, I volunteer with Young Hearts for Life, a movement to screen middle and high schoolers to prevent sudden cardiac death among that age population.
