Professional Achievements:
A fan of patient advocacy, professional development, and the L.A. punk band X, Lisa believes that learning is a life-long endeavor. Best described as “compassionate,” “assertive” and “responsible,” she enjoys taking risks and trying new things. Her experience in the ICU and with the Transplant service has led her to the understanding that just because you can do something doesn’t always mean you should. She is a strong patient advocate and believes in the importance of open communication and advanced care planning, so that everyone’s voice can be heard.
A graduate and “Double Hoo” of the University of Virginia, Lisa has completed a year long NP Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. With over a dozen years of experience as an RN and NP, she has worked for a small community hospital, a major academic center, cared for patients in the correctional system and had a chance to work in Aruba on a COVID assignment before landing at Prospero Health (now Landmark Health) in 2021. Her volunteer interests include the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is a published author and has received multiple awards and scholarships including the Suzanne M. Burns Acute Care Scholarship and Parent Volunteer of the Year.
Lisa has been married to Chris since big hair and white tennis shoes worn with jeans were in fashion. She is mother to four talented, adventurous and wonderful children. She loves to travel, having visited 48 of our 50 states, and 5 of 7 continents.
