Ashley's career began in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Indiana University Hospital, where she discovered her love for wound and ostomy care. Ashley has been a WOC nurse since 2007 and has been an educator to both staff and patients for all wound, ostomy, and continence issues. She has been an active participant in the WOC nurse community as a clinical preceptor for several WOC nurse students who are now WOC nurses throughout Indiana. During her years in clinical practice, she was very active in the development of policies and procedures for Indiana University Health and sat on the state-wide Clinical Practice Council for seven years, with three of those years as a co-chair. Ashley has been published in The Phoenix perioical, with a focus on helping ostimates through the lifestyle changes post ostomy surgery. Ashley has been a clinical consultant for Coloplast since 2013; her focus within the company is to better understand and educate on skin and wound care needs throughout the lifespan and continuum of care,
