Dr. Steve Douthett joined Ortho NorthEast as a member of the Foot & Ankle ONE team in 2023. Dr. Douthett specializes in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Dr. Douthett grew up in Rockford, Michigan, and graduated with a degree in Biology from Aquinas College. Dr. Douthett earned his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University. He completed residency training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Beaumont Health and fellowship training at the Florida Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center. He is an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Douthett underwent several foot and ankle surgeries as a child and understands first-hand what patients go through when they see a foot and ankle surgeon. His areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, ankle replacement, foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine, deformity correction, arthroscopic surgery, flatfoot repair, bunion correction, and tendon repair/transfer. He’s one of only a handful of podiatric surgeons to complete a one-year fellowship in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction recognized by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Douthett has published numerous research articles on foot and ankle surgery and regularly lectures on the national level.
