Nurse educators from all over the state of Georgia and beyond will meet at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Resort at Lake Oconee to learn, share, and disseminate research and evidence-based practice in guest speaker sessions, podium presentations, hands-on workshops, and a poster competition, as well as our annual business meeting. Continuing education credits are offered for these learning opportunities.

Michele Deck MEd, BSN, RN, LCCE, FACCE

Michele Deck presents nationally and internationally on innovative teaching methods in the field of health care education and training. She is the recipient of many honors and awards for her creativity, innovation, productivity and exemplary leadership qualities. Honors include the ANPD’s prestigious Belinda E. Puetz Award, election to Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society, Business Woman of the Year by the National Business Council. She is co-founder and chief executive officer of G.A.M.E.S., a company that specializes in seminars on adult learning and interactive teaching methods, and Tool Thyme for Trainers, a company which supplies innovative and creative presentation tools for educators worldwide. She has authored twelve books containing innovative ways to teach nursing and healthcare content.

Shawn Little DNP, RN

University System of Georgia Associate Vice Chancellor of Healthcare Education

Dr. Shawn Little is the Associate Vice Chancellor of Healthcare Education for the University System of Georgia. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Education from Walden University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University. Dr. Little has advocated to fill gaps in the healthcare workforce and has been actively involved with state legislation and removing barriers for those wishing to enter a caring career field. In addition, Little has served in leadership roles with the Georgia Association of Nursing Deans and Directors, Georgia Nurses Association, Georgia Nurses Foundation, and the Georgia Nurses Leadership Coalition. Dr. Little has dedicated her career to developing programs that support and empower nurses.
