This live, 4-hour presentation will enrich learning environments in all venues. Our national and internationally known speaker, Michelle Deck, will discuss the following: 1. Review evidence as to why gaming is a teaching practice with effective teaching results. 2. Analyze innovative and creative gaming to teach to inspire deeper levels of thinking and engagement for your learners. 3. Contrast different object lessons for use in gaming. 4. Discuss applying reviews and new approaches to your teaching practice, including escape rooms.

Michele will use multiple methods throughout the program. The 4-hours will include slides, polls, interactive gaming, storytelling, lecture, video, small group activities, and object lessons. The clinical staff development specialist will leave with an arsenal of new approaches to your teaching practice and a myriad of techniques and games to include into your teaching practices.

Michele Deck presents nationally and internationally on innovative teaching methods in the field of health care education and has been training for over 39 years. She is the recipient of many honors and awards for her creativity, innovation, productivity and exemplary leadership qualities. Honors include Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD) prestigious Belinda E. Puetz Award, election to Sigma (formerly Sigma Theta Tau ) Nursing Honor Society. Business Woman of the Year by the National Business Council. She is co-founder and chief executive officer of G.A.M.E.S., a company that specializes in seminars on adult learning and interactive training methods, and Tool Thyme for Trainers, a company which supplies innovative and creative presentation tools for educators worldwide. She has authored twelve books on creative and involving ways to teach adults. She is a past president of Lamaze International and Past Accreditation Chair. She serves on ANPD's Education committee and was a member of the Editorial board of the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development for 8 years.
