Our chapter is committed to supporting nurses caring for acutely and critically ill patients, by promoting the mission, vision, and values of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and embracing the principles of a Healthy Work Environment. Chapter officers recognize the value of certification and the vital role certification can play in evidence-based practice and optimal patient outcomes.

Our Mission is to promote collegial support and enhance the practice of the professional nurse in Northeast New York. Our Purpose is to uphold nursing standards of practice, excellence in leadership, education and research, legislation and community health. The Mountain Region chapter is a relative newcomer to the local chapter world. It was chartered in 2010 to uphold the AACN goals and to fulfill the educational needs of both acute and critical care nurses.
