Primary Responsibilities

Duties

The RN is responsible for collaborating with healthcare teams and patients/families to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Key duties include:

• Assessing patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and clinical data reviews.
• Developing and implementing personalized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrating competency in interventions like IV administration, wound care, medication delivery, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Advocating for patient safety and rights while educating patients and families based on their readiness and needs.
• Delivering culturally sensitive, relationship-based care that respects patient preferences and values.
• Delegating tasks to non-RN staff per hospital policies and state regulations.
• Managing resources efficiently and modeling professionalism in practice.
• Mentoring new staff and nursing students, participating in continuing education, and maintaining records of professional competency.
• Floating to other Centura locations within 60 miles, as needed, and adapting to changing workflows.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred in a nursing specialty.
• Nursing knowledge base specific to specialty areas.
  
  

Education & Certification Requirements

• Education:
• Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Licenses/Certifications:
• State RN License or RN License within the NLC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
