Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Reviewer to join a respected non-profit organization in Lake Success, NY. This position focuses on utilization review, appeals processing, and regulatory research to ensure that clinical documentation and decisions meet compliance standards and support equitable, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct utilization reviews and clinical appeals, including chart screening, regulatory review, and final determination preparation
• Research insurer requirements and regulatory guidance to inform determinations
• Complete electronic worksheets and documentation in compliance with standards
• Provide training, support, and technical assistance to administrative and clinical teams
• Participate in staff huddles and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Perform other duties as assigned to support review operations

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited RN training program
• Active New York State RN license required

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in utilization review, appeals, or similar settings
• Strong understanding of electronic medical records
• Experience in regulatory research or clinical compliance preferred

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve independently and work collaboratively across teams
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Flexible, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement
