Job Description

The Nurse Educator will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a procedural and infusion area, dedicating 80% of their time to direct patient care and 20% to educational responsibilities. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, developing and implementing educational programs, and serving as a clinical resource for staff. This is a Full-time position with variable shifts 5 days per week, Monday-Friday.

Principal Accountabilities

Direct Patient Care (80%):

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients across the lifespan in the pre- and post-procedure phase of care.
• Provide care to pediatric patients undergoing non-chemotherapy infusions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and manage side effects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, treatments, and post-care instructions.
  
  
  

Educational Responsibilities (20%):

• Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct orientation and ongoing training sessions for new and existing staff.
• Create and update educational materials and resources.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for nursing staff.
• Stay current with best practices, guidelines, and advancements in procedural and infusion care.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; coursework in nursing education preferred.
• BLS, PALS and ACLS required within 2 months of onboarding.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a procedural or critical care setting.
• At least 1 year of pediatric IV skills and perioperative experience preferred.
• Previous experience in nursing education or staff development preferred.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
