Job Description:

Job Title: RN-PCU (Auto Offer)

Location: Bloomington, Indiana

Schedule: 48 hours per week

Shift: 4x12 Nights (12 hrs)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Pay Range: $2900.00- $3000.00 Weekly DOE

Block Schedule: Yes (To be discussed)

On-Call Required? No

Guaranteed Hours option

8- and 10-hour shifts: 40 hours/week

3x12-hour shifts: 36 hours/week

4x12-hour shifts: 48 hours/week

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Nurse to monitor and manage patients in our progressive care unit. Responsibilities include assessing cardiac and vital signs, titrating medications, and initiating life-saving interventions as needed.

The ideal candidate has proven experience caring for acutely ill patients in step-down units, excels under pressure, and demonstrates strong skills in monitoring, interpreting, and responding to changes in patient condition.

Required Skills:

• Studying patients' charts, medication regimens, and test results upon admittance to the progressive care unit.
• Tracking routine vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements.
• Interpreting measurements from specialized medical equipment.
• Monitoring and administering prescribed medication, as well as performing titration of drug doses.
• Performing diagnostic assessments on changes in measurements, as well as designated interventions.
• Reporting deteriorating conditions to healthcare specialists and following intervention instructions.
• Updating and maintaining ward charts, patient files, and medical records.
• Overseeing Progressive Care Unit nursing assistants and support staff.
• Explaining treatments and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Must have completed 3-4 travel assignments
• Certification and License: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke and Indiana or compact state license
